Achieving Objectives
This project is specifically targeted at children of school going age at the basic level even though those at the senior high level will also indirectly benefit. Though the project is being situated at Anakum, the surrounding villages are also expected to benefit.
The project is expected to run over a long period of time. A number of strategies have been outlined to ensure that this project is sustained and able to achieve its set objectives. These strategies include:
Formation of Clubs
Hope Restoration Networks (HRN) has set up two major clubs within these district:
Hope Restoration Network Reading Club (HRNRC)
Members of this club consist of children within the primary level of education; thus, from basic 1 to 6. The objective of this club is to instill the habit of reading in children at this level of education. Children in this club are taught how to read, learn vocabularies, and write essays. They are also taken through the basics of computing to give them a good start in ICT. Volunteers are required to assist with this exercise. The club make use of the library at specific periods to undertake this exercise.
The Smart Youth Club
Members of this club consist of children in the junior high level and beyond. The purpose of this club is to instill socially acceptable behaviors in these kids. They are taught how to write good essays, how to debate and make sound arguments, building of their leadership potentials etc. Their also given opportunities to visit some cities in Ghana to see how developments are going on in order to be challenged to cause changes in their communities. The club members also benefit from free ICT trainings. Club members are also taught some vocation from time to time. The smooth progression of this club ensures the sustenance of this project. In all these clubs, Hope Restoration Network is greatly involved to ensure they succeed.
Whipping up your support
Periodic Seminars
HRN also organizes periodic seminars for parents and other stakeholders within these communities to whip up their support for this project. We appreciate that for the smooth running of such an event, all stakeholders must buy into the vision and we can achieve that by constantly reminding them of the benefits of such a project.
